"We wanna be famous"... well okay the brief was a little more detailed than that, but that's essentially what Remote XT wanted. They had the answer to mobile phone theft and damage and we had the know how to take the product from hero to zero in 24 hours.
From London to Lahore and Sydney to Seattle, the 'Screaming Phone' stole headlines worldwide. It was carried by 74 radio stations, 47 newspapers, broadcast on 52 TV stations round the globe and splashed on 683 websites internationally.
An unrelenting media relations campaign complete with the support of the Met Police, a spine chilling soundbite of the screaming alarm, and independent case studies were used to hype the consumer press for the launch.
